Grigsby Chardonnay represents Bannockburn’s exploration into high-density, organic viticulture. Planted in 2007 and later grafted to Bernard 76 clone, this close-planted vineyard delivers fruit with intensity, structure and distinct personality. Named after long-time viticulturist Lucas Grigsby, this wine leans into a broader, more textural style than other Bannockburn Chardonnays. The combination of site, clone and planting density results in a wine with both weight and precision. Wild fermentation, full malolactic conversion and extended time on lees build depth and richness, while a mineral backbone and saline edge keep the wine focused. The oak is supportive rather than dominant, allowing the vineyard character to lead. This is a layered, complex Chardonnay that continues to evolve in the glass.
